Volunteering

What is Landcare?

What is Volunteering?

Landcare is about connecting people from all walks of life to do something good for the environment.

Landcare can be best described as a movement of individuals, groups, and organisations across Australia with a shared vision to restore, enhance and protect the natural environment in their local community through sustainable land management and conservation activities.

“…Landcare networks get things done. Knowing that there is somebody or a group of people who can answer any questions someone might have is really helpful for the community.”(KPMG)

What is Volunteering?

What is Volunteering?

Volunteer involvement is a two-way relationship. It allows volunteers to contribute to social, economic, and community outcomes and enables organisations and groups to achieve their goals, vision, and purpose.

“People want to get involved because there’s all this bad news in the world and they want to make a difference in their own backyard”

“Landcare is a good mix of people of all ages and from all walks of life who come together to work for, and share in, a beautiful future.”

“Volunteering with Landcare and caring for the environment has a positive impact on the mental and physical health of individuals and the well-being of communities.”
